Unlike many financial services companies, Vanquis Bank have a friendly UK Customer Service call center and also offer online and SMS account management. Vanquis Bank was established in 2002 as a subsidiary of the Provident Financial Group. They offer Visa credit cards for UK residents with less than perfect credit history. Based in London, Vanquis was licensed for Consumer Credit by the OFT in 2002 and received authorisation from the Financial Services Authority in 2003. In 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Vanquis won the “Credit Provider of the Year” at the Credit Today Awards. In 2011 they opened a second call center in Bradford and also launched a High Yield Bond product in the same year. Today Vanquis are one of the larger employers in the Thames Gateway area with their head office and two all centers all in that region. Vanquis Bank offer two main credit building cards, with interest rates varying from 29.8% to 59.9% depending on the credit circumstances of the customer. Both cards offer an easy to manage credit limit between £150 and £1,000 with a Credit Limit increase possible after the 4th statement if the account is kept in good order up to a maximum of £3,000.
